Caramelized Onions
Ingredients
1 teaspoon sugar
1 onion, sliced
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Large Drizzle of olive oil
Splash of water
Instructions
In a large nonstick pan, heat a large drizzle of olive oil over medium heat.
Add the sliced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and softened (8–10 minutes).
Add 1 teaspoon of sugar and a spalsh of water. Cook adding more splashed of water as necessary until onion is caramelized and jammy. 2–3 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper.
Turn off heat; transfer onion to a small bowl. Wipe out pan. Enjoy.
